Weald19 is a web directory built on the principle of the library card catalogue — a systematic, subject-classified index of sites across the open web. Rather than algorithmically ranking resources, Weald19 places each listed site within one of 22 subject sections, letting visitors browse by topic as one would browse a reference shelf.
The catalogue currently holds 829 approved listings, drawn from a wide range of subjects including financial services, medical resources, culinary provisions, travel and tourism, and technology systems. Each entry is held under its primary subject classification, with the category structure designed to be intuitive and consistently applied.
Listings are submitted by site owners free of charge via the Add a Site form. Submitted sites are reviewed and, where appropriate, placed in the most relevant catalogue section. The catalogue grows through these submissions, and new entries are reflected on the site shortly after acceptance.
The Weald19 index is open to enquiry from any visitor and requires no registration to browse. It is maintained as a straightforward reference tool — an ordered finding aid for the web, rather than an editorial recommendation service.
To add your site to the Weald19 catalogue, use the submission form. Select the catalogue section that best matches your site primary subject, and your entry will be reviewed for inclusion in the appropriate drawer.
